The Three Stooges were perhaps the only subject to spawn three totally different games by Colorforms. The slapstick game was a traditional Colorforms entry with small vinyl figures and a platform. The fabulous full-color jigsaw puzzles were a marked departure from the Colorforms tradition. This third variety was a coloring set complete with a coloring book containing 18 different line drawn images of the Stooges to color with supplied crayons, produced in two sizes. The production portfolio for both games contains: an intricate 16" x 14" paper collage of the trio for the original cover art for the small set; a multi-media large 19-1/2" x 16" collage for the original cover art for the large game (paper, cloth, pen, hand color and photo); a fantastic group of 18 different original 8" x 10" original pen and ink drawings of the Stooges on a vellum-like transparent paper (The drawings were glued down to heavy board for photography purposes; unfortunately the glue has left stains on the reverse that shows through. We have confirmed that these can be restored.); two ad mech.'s; 11 sample color pencils; prog.'s; and a large cover proof. Ingenious art not found in any other game in the archive.
