The Colorforms Betty Boop Big Dress-Up Set is a standout piece in the world of Fleischers Studios' campy Queen collectibles. This set (#1933) was obviously produced as a response to the Betty revival of the 1980's, and the company probably expected to sell just as many to adult fans as they would to kids. The foundation piece for the set is the airbrushed stat platform art of Betty in her skimpies, standing next to Bimbo, (her dog/boyfriend at various stages in her career). This work measures 7" x 14", and it is accompanied by five individual works for the vinyl pieces. Each displays a different laminate collage that is mounted on a piece of acetate that lies atop a color stat of the original Betty image. That's right, this set offers the basic Betty, plus five separate images of the star attired in her trademark black dress, a Spanish gown, a tophat/bowtie/and cane performing costume, a sunsuit, and her classic hula skirt outfit! Accompanying those gems is the airbrushed stat cover art that has three colorful acetate overlays (14" x 21"), a mech. for the booklet, and 15 prog.'s that contain the combined images of the cover, the booklet, and the platform. Equally important, the choice production file also comes with a NM sample game.
