Horace "Hod" Lisenbee (1898-1987) was a seasoned Major League lefthander who toiled at the big league level for seven seasons—spread over a total of 28 years! The offered, flannel pinstripe apparel—from roughly the midpoint of the southpaw's career—represents a prized, one-year-only style, and also stands as the first year of uniform numbering for the Boston Red Sox. The ensemble includes: Jersey - A home flannel, with six all-original buttons and the number "24" on the back. A "Horace Partidge" manufacturer's tag is situated in the collar, along with chain-stitched "Sunday - Lisenbee" on a separate, sewn-in panel. The team's "2 Red Sox" logo is secured to the left sleeve. Pants - attributed to Bill Sweeney, well-known Pacific Coast League manager and Lisenbee's teammate with the Sox from 1930-31. A "Horace Partidge" manufacturer's tag is sewn in at the waist, and a chain-stitched "Sunday - Sweeney" cloth label is positioned just below. Both of these rare garments are all-original as issued, and reflect moderate usage along with regionalized shading from age. LOA from Legendary Auctions.
