A wonderful four-panel original drawing from the classic Halloween tale that originally appeared in Donald Duck #26 in 1952, drawn by Disney's resident duck genius, Carl Barks. Barks had crafted the original 36-page epic for the November issue of Donald Duck comics. That year the story was also adapted for a seven minute, 50 second theater release cartoon. The magical protagonist was Witch Hazel and her broom Beelzebub. This four-panel treat from the classic story features Hazel, Beelzebub, Daisy and the nephews, and it is pristine Mint in its execution and appearance. The drawn image measures 16" x 11-1/2" and is signed in ink in the last panel "Carl Barks." The matte contains a brass plate detailing the dates and title of the work. Can it really be over a half century since the creative storyteller produced this gem? A rare example of Barks at his pen-and-ink best.
