This great behind-the-scenes look at news-service photo production serves to show how the arrow trajectories were hand-painted directly onto the image, and then boxed graphics were later added for the eventual published picture (seen on reverse). Date-stamped October 2, 1952 by the Herald-American, the caption recounts the Game 1 action at Ebbets Field: "HOMER OUTPUT of Dodgers yesterday is photo-diagrammed (above). First of three was smashed by Jackie Robinson into left field stands in second inning. Next came in sixth, a tremendous power drive over scoreboard in right center field into Bedford av., by Duke Snider. Third was smashed by Pee Wee Reese, into lower left field stands in eighth inning." The oversized 9" x 12-1/4" photo rates VG condition with typical newsroom wear in the form of peripheral creasing, a few edge tears, a corner clip and crop marks.
